1957 Basho 12 Set

    Description:  This is a nice colorful set from late 1957.  It features many of the popular Rikishi of the time.  This has a late Yokozuna menko of Kagamisato and one of the Ozeki Wakanohana's last menkos printed.  These menko came in sheets and had to be cut out by children.

   Front Design:  Most of the menko show the Rikishi in their kesho-mawashi or during warm-up before a bout.  The background are vivid geometrical designs with various sumo images.  Shikona is written vertically. 

   Back Design:  A large gunbai with the Rikishi's shikona appears in the center of the menko.  Height and weight info is on the right and left of the menko.  A Gu-Choki-Pa symbol is in the upper left of the gunbai and a 12 digit fighting number appears along the bottom.
