1957 Sanenchu Straight 11-12-13 Set

    Description:  Menko were bundled together and then sold in boxes to toy shops.  Kids could purchase packs of these cards for a few yen.  Most cards on the market are in very good condition with nice, sharp corners and straight edges.  These cards have good coloring and are on nice, heavy paper stock.  A typical set of the mid 1950s with the 4 Yokozuna and other popular Rikishi of the time.  This set features future Ozeki Kotogahama as a Komusubi in which he only spent 3 tournaments at!

   Front Design:  Most of the menko show the rikishi in various poses on a background with random colored designs. 

   Back Design:  The rikishi's shikona appears vertically under a Gu-Choki-Pa which is at the top of the middle column.  The rikishi's rank appears at the top and the age and height/weight info are in both columns next to the name.
