Description: This is a nice colorful set from 1957. The inks used produced vivid and bold colors. It also features many of the popular rikishi of the time. This set has numerous back variations so it is a fun set to collect.

Front Design: Fronts show the rikishi in their kesho-mawashi or a close-up waist up shot. Colors are vivid and are predominantly red or blue. Shikona appears on the front in various places.

Back Design: A large diagonal stripe dominates the middle of the back. Inside this stripe is a 9-10-11 digit Fighting Number. In the bottom right corner of the menko is a large Gu-Choki-Pa mark. In the upper left corner of the menko is a war themed word. Backs are printed with a blue ink.
