BC597

1959 Yamakatsu Trump 7 Set

BC597-1, Type 1: Grey Paper Stock

BC597-2, Type 2: Tan Paper Stock

Description:  This is one of my favorite sets from the late 1950's in terms of the coloring.  The colors are vivid and printing production seems to be very good with this set.  Unfortunately (or fortunately), it doesn't seem have been manufactured in great quantities or it wasn't popular with the children as all menko seem to be in great condition.  This set features some error menko with no information printed.  These errors seem to be uncorrected.

    Company: Yamakatsu                                          Availability: Scarce

Card Size: 1.75" X 3.00"                                       Card Material: Thin, Paper Stock

     # of Cards: 28+                                                    Packaging: Taba and Sheets

Winner Stamp Description: Black 1, 2 and 3 inside circle

Front Design:  This set features the rikishi either posing in their kesho mawashi or in some sort of action scene.  The shikona is very difficult to read and sometimes hard to find on the front of the menko.

Back Design:  The rikishi's statistics are in the middle of the menko along with a Gu-Choki-Pa in the upper right corner.  In the upper left corner is a playing cards symbol (heart, diamond, spade, club).  The bottom features a 7 digit Fighting Number.
